Cookies Policy
This page explains what cookies and similar technologies ExpertCalculator uses, what they do, and how you can manage them.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your browser's storage when you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember preferences, and provide information about user behaviour.
2. What cookies we use
2.1 Essential cookies
ExpertCalculator's core calculators and pages do not require cookies to function. The Site is a static-content website with no login, no account system, and no user-specific data storage on our servers.
2.2 Third-party cookies — Google AdSense
When advertisements are displayed on the Site, Google AdSense and its advertising partners may set cookies in your browser. These cookies enable Google to:
- Show advertisements that are likely to be relevant to your interests
- Measure ad performance (clicks, impressions)
- Prevent the same ad from being shown to you repeatedly
- Detect and prevent ad fraud
Google describes these cookies in detail at Google's Cookies policy.
2.3 Google Fonts
The Site loads typography (Fraunces, Inter) from Google Fonts. This causes a network request to Google's servers and may incidentally generate log entries on Google's infrastructure. Google does not set cookies via the Fonts service itself.
3. Your cookie choices
You can manage cookies in several ways:
- Cookie consent banner — On your first visit, we display a cookie consent prompt where you can accept or decline non-essential cookies.
- Browser settings — All modern browsers let you block cookies entirely, block third-party cookies, delete existing cookies, or be alerted when a cookie is set. See your browser's help pages for instructions.
- Google Ads Settings — Opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings.
- Industry opt-outs — Visit YourOnlineChoices (EU/UK) or aboutads.info (US) for industry-wide ad cookie management.
4. Impact of blocking cookies
Because our core functionality does not require cookies, blocking them will not break the calculators or content. You may see less relevant advertisements, but the Site will work normally.
5. Do Not Track
ExpertCalculator itself does not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals because our analytics are aggregated and anonymous. Third-party services (Google) handle DNT according to their own policies.
6. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookies Policy as our use of cookies evolves. The effective date will be updated accordingly.
